EVOC TRAINING – EMERGENCY VEHICLE OPERATOR TRAINING

This course is designed for first responders who operate emergency vehicles and require specialized training to drive safely under high-pressure situations.

Course Objective:

To provide drivers of emergency vehicles with the knowledge, skills, and awareness required to operate safely and effectively under emergency conditions, while minimizing risks to themselves, their passengers, and the public.

Target Audience:

Drivers of ambulances, fire engines, police vehicles, and other

emergency services.

Prerequisite:

Valid driver’s license.

1. Introduction to Emergency Vehicle Operations

Theory

Each lesson will include interactive class discussions and verbal questioning to enhance participant engagement and understanding.

A written examination will be conducted in the form of a multiple-choice test, with each question offering no fewer than four possible answers. All questions and answer options will be written in clear and simple English to ensure they are easily understood by participants whose first language is not English.

 
Practical

The practical driving session will be assessed with respect to measurement of the objectives and their subsets. The driver may be asked simple questions periodically in relation to the driving environment. Briefings will be given relating to specific tasks to be achieved whilst driving. Each driver must be able to successfully perform each of these tasks in order to be recorded as competent.
