FIRE WARDEN TRAINING COURSE

The Fire Warden Training Course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to effectively perform the duties of a Fire Warden in the workplace. The course focuses on fire prevention, emergency preparedness, evacuation procedures, and the correct use of firefighting equipment to ensure safety and compliance with local fire safety regulations

Objective

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Fire Warden.
  • Identify potential fire hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Respond effectively in the event of a fire emergency.
  • Assist in the safe and orderly evacuation of personnel.
  • Operate basic firefighting equipment safely and correctly.
  • Communicate effectively with emergency response teams and management.

Course Content

Module 1: Introduction to Fire Safety

  • Importance of fire safety in the workplace
  • Common causes of fires
  • The fire triangle (heat, fuel, oxygen)
  • Fire behavior and spread

Module 2: Legal Requirements and Fire Warden Responsibilities

  • Overview of UAE Fire and Life Safety Code / Local regulations
  • Duties and responsibilities of a Fire Warden
  • Fire safety management and record keeping

Module 3: Fire Prevention and Risk Assessment

  • Identifying fire hazards and assessing risks
  • Fire prevention strategies and control measures

Module 4: Emergency Procedures and Evacuation 

  • Fire alarm systems and emergency communication 
  • Evacuation procedures and assembly points 
  • Accounting for personnel during emergencies 
  • Assisting persons with disabilities during evacuation 

Module 5: Firefighting Equipment and Practical Session 

  • Demonstration and hands-on practice in using firefighting equipment 

Module 6: Post-Emergency Actions 

  • Debriefing and reviewing fire incidents 
  • Continuous improvement in fire safety practices

1. Practical Observation –

This component involves the direct observation of learners as they carry out specific tasks or activities in a practical setting. Assessors evaluate performance against clearly defined criteria to ensure learners can demonstrate the required skills, competence, and application of knowledge in real or simulated work environments.


2. Centre-Marked Multiple-Choice Theory Assessment –

This written assessment tests the learner’s understanding of key concepts, principles, and knowledge areas relevant to the qualification. Learners answer multiple-choice questions, and the assessment is marked by the approved training centre following Highfield’s marking guidance.

To successfully complete the qualification, learners must achieve a pass in both the practical observation and the theory assessment. Failure to pass either component will result in an overall non-achievement of the qualification, ensuring that successful candidates demonstrate both practical competence and theoretical understanding.
